News of the Sun 2.0

Welcome to the redesigned News Of The Sun blog, your local source for what unionized workers at Baltimore's hometown daily broadsheet are thinking and talking about. (As featured in today's Citypaper.)

Please note the newly added middle column, which contains not only a nod to our great history in journalism (that would be H.L. Mencken's mug) but the newly added "Recent Comments" and Twitter feed widgets -- wee little blog features that help highlight 'user-generated content' in the blogosphere. We wonder what Mencken would think about journalists tossing the words "widget" and "Twitter" around. 

Alrighty. Moving on. The right rail -- which, under the previous design, was simply known as the right column -- features more interactive thingies, including numerous polls that help you decide on your opinion. After you vote, you can then see what others think. (Such as how no one is willing to pay for local news, according to one poll.) This is another innovation brought to you for free, you scurvy band of freeloading Internet news pirates. Arrrr!

The right rail also features a contact email for expressing your issues and concerns to official Sun management, particularly if you're a subscriber. Remember: this blog is a union blog that represents the voices of Sun workers. So, you can voice your issues here but you must contact an official company representative who can address your needs as a customer.
